One Week.

It’s been one week since UgMarket re-launched, it has been one week in operation and we have seen an increase in visitor counts and an increase in member sign ups. Although we’re happy with these numbers, we still look forward to having a higher turn up than that which currently getting. [After all the success of this site depends on number and you shall find out as you read through] We therefore urge you to let your friends know about this new found gem on the internet and it’s possibility of evolving Uganda’s commerce in the near future. What is UgMarket’s Goal.

Our goal is very simple, to simplify the the commerce of Uganda while we provide consumers with an easier way to make shopping decisions. This therefore benefits both the consumer and trader in a series of ways as they shall be outlined below.

For the Consumer.

• Online cataloging of merchandise on the Ugandan market. This means that the buyer needs not to travel long distances to look at/ for products and or services, contact sellers as well as look for best prices. The buyer will be able to do all of this while sited on their computer.

• The buyer will not have to store hop in order to look for the best prices. The buyer will just search for the item and see where to find the prices and from which seller. This will thus minimize on the trips as the buyer will only make one trip to proceed and buy the product or service.
• Convenience, we cannot deny that this will be a convenient way for shopping for the buyer. Although the buyer may not be able to buy the products or services online [for now], they will have saved a lot of time and money in addition to the convenience.
• Buyers will now be able to conveniently and cheaply contact all sellers with questions and suggestions and receive prompt feedback.
• Buyers will also have a chance to read reviews from other buyers who have purchased products and services from the same provider. This will thus help them to make educated descriptions before they proceed with the purchase.

For the Seller/Trader

• More exposure. Sellers will no longer be confined to their geographical location since their products and services will now be available for every consumer to buy.
• More opportunities for business. Imagine a farmer who grows agricultural products in a very rural area. His opportunities to a good market price are limited by geographical location. However, with the help of these services, every farmer will have the opportunity to the same market share as the rest of the farmers in the country. This goes for small business owners too.
• No advertising cost. Since UgMarket offers free classifieds listings, every business owner will have a chance to market their product to the country at no extra cost.
• Resellers will now have a chance to resell used products to those who need them. Imagine a home owner who decides to redecorate his home and thus needs to take out his old furniture for a new set. He/She no longer has to do a quick sale which usually renders the product cheaper than it should. But with UgMarket, the reseller now has a chance to list his used items for a better market value.
• If a business lists it’s products online, it will then increase it’s chances of being noticed. UgMarket provides every account with a section of contact details and thus, every business and trader will have a vast populous to share from.
• Check on monopoly. Traditionally, when a consumer needs to buy a particular product, they’ll drive to their favorite store or to a famous store to purchase their products. However, with UgMarket, every seller will have an opportunity to recognition and publication through the whole country. This will be achieved in that consumers will not be going to stores but rather will be conducting an online search for their desired product regardless of the store.
• Integrity. The site has got in an evaluation system. Every member has got the ability of evaluating another member. This feedback system creates a system of integrity and self check in that every trader will strive to provide good quality products and or services, good customer care and so on and so forth. This will foster a growing culture of good business in Uganda.
• New mode of business. We thought we’d throw this one out there. The services of this website will usher in a new mode of Business in Uganda. Business owners will start working from home, small business will now have a greater chance to expand among other benefits.
• Traders and sellers will now have a portal where they can contact their customers for new arrivals, new products, answer questions as well notify the public of new promotions.
